Window to the Past: Clarkston Road

editorial image

One from the early part of the 20th century, here we have an aspect of Clarkston Road at Netherlee dating back to the 1920s or 1930s.
A pretty quiet scene with no-one around save for one woman at the doorstep of her shop.
Although the buildings seem sturdy enough, not one of them now exists as progress has long since made its way through the southside.
Portal to the Past’s website says this area is now known as McLaren Place, but we could find no such area on our map.
