Window to the Past: a trip to
the movies

This 1949 black and white postcard of Kilmarnock (now Fenwick) Road, Giffnock, is still familiar today — although the Tudor cinema, like the tramlines, are long gone. The well-known Tudor cinema was built in 1936, and included a ballroom and restaurant as well as a cinema all under one roof. The site is now occupied by Whole Foods.
