Williamwood: going strong for 75 years

MEMBERS of the Williamwood parish church congregation gathered recently in celebration of 75 years in the community.

The church held a dinner at the Holiday Inn, East Kilbride, where a book on its history – written and published by Stuart Wallace – was available to buy.

Guest speakers included Glasgow’s presbytery moderator, Sandra Black, Ian McPherson MBE, deputy lieutenant Jonathan Muirhead and opera student Fiona Joice, of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

The event was hosted by reverend Alastair Cherry, and ministers from the Clarkston churches were also in attendance at what organisers described as a “superb evening”.
