The Extra has been hard at work compiling the details of the two largest fireworks displays/bonfires in the area for your enjoyment.

We have included the times and dates of the various events, along with any parking restrictions, where known.

Remember no personal fireworks, including sparklers are permitted at the organised displays.

Time(s): Fun starts at 5pm (Fireworks 7.30pm)

Where: Glasgow Green, Glasgow City Centre

Price: This is a free event

Spectators are welcome on to the Green, where they can buy a range of food and drink, and browse merchandise stalls. They can also enjoy a funfair!

Please enter Glasgow Green from Saltmarket, Greendyke Street and Charlotte Street or via the West Carriageway. There will be no access to the event via the East Carriageway near Templeton Business Centre, via St Andrew’s Bridge or the River Walkway.

ROAD CLOSURES

Greendyke Street, Charlotte Street, Binnie Place, Montieth Row and Monteith Place will be closed to vehicles between 4pm and 9pm. Additional closures will be in place on Saltmarket, James Morrison Street, Turnbull Street, Bridgegate and Crown Street between 7.15pm and 8.15pm.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Car parking is strictly limited so please use public transport. The nearest main line stations are Queen Street and Central Station – please call 0871 200 2233 for more details. The nearest local train stations are Argyle Street, High Street and Belgrove and the nearest underground stations are St Enoch and Bridge Street.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

Limited accessible parking is available on Greendyke Street for Blue Badge holders only. Access is from Turnbull Street and then as directed by the Event Stewards to a designated parking area.

PARKING

The nearest pay and display car park is Upper High Street.

East Ren Council have advised there are no road restrictions in place for this evening event. Local parking is available, although limited. Muirend station is the closest one for access to the display. If you’re planning on using a bus, then use either a 44 or a 66 service.
