Thursday June 11

Join the Rouken Glen Rangers on their free parent and baby walking group that meets every Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm at the Pavilion Visitor Centre at 1.30pm on Thursdays. The walk is free of charge. The group aims to cover approximately two miles in one hour or occasionally 3 miles in 1.5 hours.

Free skincare and makeup workshop every Thursday 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Athena Therapies and Holistics Academy, Edward House Business Centre Burnfield Avenue, Giffnock. A model will be selected from the group for a makeover. It’s all hands on so you need a partner to do it on.

Barrhead Baby Cafe is a free weekly meet-up for pregnant women and breastfeeding mums. Partners are welcome too. From 2-4pm at Auchinleck resource centre.

Friday June 12

Scotland’s biggest free multicultural festival is celebrating 25 years this summer. The huge outdoor festival offers a diverse programme of music, dance and performance representing cultures from across the world that have made Glasgow their home. Runs until Sunday June 14.

Displays of wedding photographs, memorabilia, dresses, hats and a fashion show of vintage to contemporary wedding, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Refreshments will be served. “Come dressed in your Wedding Best”. Park Church in Giffnock will be hosting a ‘Weddings Through The Ages’ exhibition from today (Friday) until tomorrow (Saturday).

Saturday June 13

NETHERLEE Chamber Music Series presents Mozart for a Summer’s Evening. 7.30pm at Netherlee Church, performed by principal players of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and friends. Tickets £10/£5 (children free) available on the door.

DISCO. The Giffnock North Social Club will be holding a charity disco from 7.45pm until late in aid of West of Scotland (Beatson) Cancer Care. Tickets are only £6 and are available at the bar or you can call Jim on 07790085048. New members welcome - one night temporary membership available for non members.

It’s the last day of the Glasgow Science Festival in this the International Year of Light. Be enlightened by the vast array of science and engineering happening right on your doorstep. Various locations. Explore these questions and more through live comedy, film, tastings, exhibitions and lots of hands-on activities.

Monday June 15

Dog walking group is for like minded dog walkers, who enjoy company on their walks. It is also a chance to get fit and see some of our beautiful scenery. The group meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.30am at Levern Crescent, Barrhead.

Join a well-established bridge club in the function suite in the Maccabi centre, May Terrace, Giffnock. Do you play Bridge but don’t want to go to a bridge club? Come along and try supervised play in a relaxed social environment every Monday evening at 7.30pm. This is ideal for those who play social Bridge or have completed a course of lessons.

Tuesday June 16

In the 1950s Glasgow needed bus drivers. Some who applied were immigrants from India and Pakistan. Find out some of their amazing personal stories of coming to and working in Glasgow in this new film display. The yearlong event ends today at the Riverside museum.

Ballet of the Palette is an Gallery of Modern Art exhibition of 20th-century paintings selected from Glasgow Museums’ collection. These paintings have been chosen by contemporary artists who exhibited work in the 2013 exhibition, A Picture Show, and runs until January next year. Entry during opening hours.

Wednesday June 17

DISNEY’S High School Musical Disney’s High School Musical will be the first large scale show performed on stage in the brand new Eastwood high school building. One hundred local children will take part in the show, which will run nightly from the June 17 -19th.

Thursday June 18

The Photographer’s Studio in the Riverside museum ‘old street’ has had a makeover. Learn about photography and take your own photograph in their replica studio space with a new selection of costumes. Runs until August 21.
