ANIMAL drama workshops - part of the Early Years Festival - running at Eastwood Park Theatre and Barrhead Foundry. Half hour classes with warm-up games, miming, storytelling and more. 2-3 years 11am at Eastwood and 2pm Barrhead. 3-5 years 12.30pm at Eastwood and 3pm at Barrhead. Costs £2.50.

Sunday July 5

SCOTLAND’S Gardens Open Garden event in Newton Mearns, 1-5pm. Head to Kamares, a hacienda-style house surrounded by mature trees and beech hedge and boasting sculptures and fun topiary - owned by an artist. Kamares is the last house on the left on Broom Road. Entry £4, with Jewish Care Scotland receiving 40 per cent of Scotland’s Garden profits.

FAMILY fun at Eastwood Park as Anya, Gary and Kevin present FunBox: Fancy Dress Fun. Silliness with a Scottish flavour - if you can find the keys to the magical FunBox. 1pm and 3.30pm shows, and tickets are £11 (family £40) from 577 4956.

Monday July 6

FIRST Steps Giffnock meet at 10am at Whole Foods (outside the main door) for a stroll - free to join.

JOIN Paul John Dear at the Kinning Park Complex 1-3pm - the latest stop on his charity Drum Trek. The musician is on a rhythmical odyssey, making 27 community drum circles in 26 days from John O’Groat’s to Lands End. Family friendly event and free to join - for info, visit www.drumtrek.org.

FAMILY singalong with Pollokshaws Community Choir. Join the choir at Pollokshaws Methodist Church Monday this week and next, 1.30-2.30pm for a free event run by the Pollokshaws Area Network.

Tuesday July 7

FIRST Steps meet at Eastwood Park Theatre (in the cafe) from 9.30am.

BARRHEAD Walking Group sets off from the Foundry front door at 9.45am for a longer walk at a moderate pace.

FIRST Steps Cowan Park outing from 10am, meeting in St John’s Tea Room.

Wednesday July 8

NEILSTON Walkers set out from The Bank for a longer countryside walk at a moderate pace. Meeting from 10am in the cafe.

WALK for beginners sets out at 10.30am, also from The Bank in Neilston.

Thursday July 9

FIRST Steps walk from Auchenback Resource Centre - up to 45 mins and for beginners. Setting off at 10.30am.
