A Holyrood public speaking competition took place at Holy Cross primary.

Two children from primary seven were chosen to represent Our Lady of The Annunciation.

A spokeswoman said: “After numerous auditions in class, they were chosen by staff and peers to represent their school.

“Chairman Jamie McEntegart and main speaker Luca MacKenna chose the topic of How to teach Grandad to Text – a popular and extremely humorous topic.”

“Nine schools in the Holyrood community competed and Our Lady of The Annunciation Primary placed second place.

“Staff and pupils at OLA, and of course, the boys’ parents are very proud of their work, confidence and dedication.”

St Fillan’s placed on the top spot in first place and St Francis placed a respectable third.
