Two attacked on city street

POLICE are on the look-out after two men were seriously assaulted on Friday.

The two, aged 19 and 22, were walking on Arklet Road in the southside when a silver-grey car pulled up beside them and two men got out and attacked them.

The 19-year-old was stabbed and the 22-year-old was struck on the head before the attacker returned to the car and drove off.

The pair were taken to the Southern General Hospital where the 19-year-old was detained for treatment.

His friend was later released.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective sergeant Greig Wilkie said: “Although we have yet to establish a motive for the assault, inquiries have revealed that it was a targeted attack.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have information or knowledge about the car or the suspects to get in touch with us”.
