South side fatal road crash victim is named

Police have named the woman who died on Friday after she was hit by two cars on Nithsdale Road as 43-year-old Nadia Sattar.

She was crossing the road close to its junction with Dargarvel Avenue at around 6.15pm when she was struck successively by a grey Volkswagen Touran and a white Volkswagen Golf.

She died as she was being taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Relatives are aware, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The drivers of both vehicles were unharmed, but left in a state of shock following the incident.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, from the Division Road Policing Unit based at Govan, said: “Since our initial media appeal, the two individuals we asked to come forward have been in contact with police.

“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.”

We would continue to ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact police with any information they have.”

Road Policing Officers in Glasgow are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information about it, to contact them at the Road Policing Complex at Govan via 101.
