BUDDING artists from East Renfrewshire schools will see their work exhibited at Eastwood Park Gallery from this week.
The special exhibition showcases work created by youngsters who sat SQA exams in art and design last year.
Around 100 different works of art will feature from all seven high schools – including that of sixth year pupil Jacqueline Fraser, from St Ninian’s (pictured).
Councillor Paul O’Kane, vice convener for education and equalities, commented: “This is a fantastic public showcase for our talented pupils.
“The finished pieces show what pupils have been working on all year, and are what gets them their exam results.
“The exhibition is held every year and is always very popular with pupils, parents, teachers and the public”.
He added: “Some of these pupils will go on to study art and architecture, so the work is of a very high standard”.
The exhibition – now to the public from Friday until January 31 – will also feature preparation works from the young artists, in order to explain their journey from idea to finished piece.
Eastwood Park Gallery is open 9.30am-5pm Monday to Friday, until 4.30pm on Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.
