SHAWLANDS Academy pupils are getting ready to tread the boards – and try their hands at time travel.
The school’s annual show takes place next week, and this year it’s an original production written by drama teacher Chris McLean and music teacher Alison Gemmel, called Doctor Hugh.
No – it’s not a typo. This is the story of that other time-travelling doctor’s brother, who has no choice but to step in and save the universe and Princess Marita by journeying through time and space.
Will he do it? Or is planet Earth doomed forever?
Find out on Tuesday, June 19 and Wednesday, June 20 – performances start at 7.30pm and tickets are £4 each, available each night on the door.
Drama teacher Kirstie Cowan told The Extra: “We would really like to provide the opportunity for people within the community to witness the great work and commitment shown by pupils and staff alike”.
