THE planet is in safe hands if pupils at Netherlee nursery are anything to go by.
The children came to school in bright clothing and turned off the lights to save energy and mark WWF’s global scheme, Earth Hour.
As part of the initiative, children at the school were encouraged to walk more and use less electricity in their day-to-day lives.
The nursery kids have been working towards earning their RSPB Wildlife Action Awards, and to date have achieved a silver award.
The next step is gold, which the nursery class is hoping to snap up this year.
