Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in the southside on Thursday, September 22.

Around 1pm in the afternoon a 20-year-old man was walking along Old Rutherglen Road, near to Oregon Street, when he was approached by another male who launched into a vicious assault.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a stab wound. Hospital staff have described his condition as stable.

The suspect is described as white, mid 20s, 5ft6, of stocky build and with shaved hair. He was wearing a white top with the branding ‘Nike’ in black on the chest.

Detective Sergeant Martin Smith from Cathcart CID said: “From our CCTV enquiries so far we can see that the surrounding area was busy with members of the public at the time of the incident.

“Somebody must have seen something and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch.
