ALL are invited to St Aidan’s episcopal church this month for a conference entitled David Livingstone and Christian Mission and Ecumenism Today.

The Clarkston congregation hosts the event on April 13, 10am until 4pm, with speakers including reverend John Kafwanka, director of Mission in the Anglican Communion Office, and reverend John Miller, former moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The event – in partnership with the Scottish government and National Trust for Scotland’s Livingstone200 initiative – marks the bicentenary of David Livingstone’s birth, and focuses on the modern day significance of missionary work.

The Waverley Care Voice of Hope choir will also be singing during the closing service, and participants will be treated to an African-themed lunch, for a suggested donation of £10 (or £5 for the unwaged).

To find out more about the event, or to register, visit the church website, call 638 3080 or email organiser and St Aidan’s rector, reverend Nicholas Taylor, at nicholas.h.taylor@btconnect.com.
