What links Rouken Glen Park to Borneo? The wait to find out is over as of tonight.

After much anticipation, Electric Glen returns to East Ren - and the man behind the winter light festival promises to take revellers back some 450 million years.

Phil Supple, also responsible for the Tower of London’s now famous poppy installation, has turned his attention to Rouken Glen, using fire, sound, music and light to delve into the history of the land - some 450 million years of it.

Electric Glen runs February 4-14, with contributions from Noval, who create 3D visuals for the likes of Calvin Harris, and printmaker and recent graduate Hazel Dunn.

East Renfrewshire Council call it the ‘must-see event of winter 2016’, and the authority expects 25,000 to pass through Rouken Glen’s gates, perhaps upping the £1 million the last Electric Glen generated for the local economy.
