Church goes purple to support World Pancreatic Cancer Day

Eastwood Juvenile U19 players are throwing all they’ve got behind a national charity - Pancreatic Cancer Action for World Pancreatic Cancer Day on Thursday, November 17.

The club, along with other local businesses are supporting their coach, David Fitzpatrick, who is also the founder of Action 4 Patricia and Paul, a fund which aims to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and to support research into the disease.

David said: “I am so pleased that everyone has agreed to support the cause by lighting up their buildings or premises in purple. Sadly, I am all too familiar with the devastating impact of pancreatic cancer. Our family have lost two special people both our beloved mother and my brother, Paul, to this disease.

Some of the other supporters on the southsdie are: St Roberts Church on peat Road and Andiamo’s restaurant.
