It’s almost time to dim the lights for another Southside Film Festival.

The fest runs October 8-11, with an opening reception held at The Glad Cafe ,including a talk on the venue’s Lost Cinemas of Glasgow exhibition.

Stan Laurel’s southside connection is celebrated with Putting Pants On Philip at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, while Pollok House serves up French food for Madeleine — the story of one of Glasgow’s most famous murders.

Queens Park Camera Club will screen Finding Vivian Maier, on the elusive (and posthumously celebrated) photographer, while Queens Park Church welcomes all ages for Scorcese’s Hugo.

There are events on at Govanhill Baths, as well as the Southside Filmmaker Screening and Award and a reggae night and showing of The Harder They Come at The Rum Shack.
