Eildon Housing Association's sheltered housing service has received an excellent report following a recent inspection by the Care Inspectorate.

The sheltered housing warden service provided by East Renfrewshire Council has been given a top-class report from inspectors.

The service won praise and a rating of ‘very good’ in all categories assessed.

Inspectors looked at the quality of care and support, staffing and management and leadership on their visits.

Among the highlights in their re port were that the service is “very good overall at involving tenants in assessing and improving the service and the effectiveness of the service in enabling tenants to make individual choices and ensure they are supported to achieve their potential”.

During the inspection, tenants commented: “The care I get is good and I just could not ask for better”; “excellent care and compassion without being intrusive. I feel very safe here”; and “I am very happy in this sheltered housing accommodation and know that it’s the best position to be in.”

The service was also given an ‘excellent’ rating for supporting and training staff and for promoting leadership within staff. The service supports up to 250 people over eight complexes.
