Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash in Glasgow City Centre in the early hours of Sunday (September 4).

Around 12.45am officers were called out after a pedestrian was hit by a black hackney cab on Clyde Street.

Emergency also rushed to the scene and took a 48-year-old man to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for what is being described as a serious head injury.

Sergeant Stuart Bell said: “There will have been people heading home from nights out in the city centre around the time of this incident and I would appeal for any witnesses to get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Govan on 101.”
