CUBS from the 171st Whitecraigs scout group took up their pricing guns recently in the fight against poverty.
The scouts have been collecting everything from unused toys and clothing to books, CDs and DVDs over three weeks, and spent their usual activity time on a Tuesday volunteering in the McKinley Place Oxfam shop.
Liz Forbes, one of the shop’s volunteers, commented: “It was great to work with such enthusiastic kids — they really got into the task and did an amazing job, and we hope we have inspired some potential Oxfam volunteers of the future”.
Group scout leader Susan Price added: “It was a fantastic evening. The cubs really enjoyed working with the shop volunterers and we’re extremely proud of all the effort they put into collecting and processing the donations”.
