Saving the world a toddle at a time

FORGET those silver screen caped crusaders — last week some real superheroes took to Pollok park to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The Big Toddle — a sponsored walk for under fives — took place last Saturday, and over 50 toddlers donned their superhero costumes for the trek.

Organiser Toni Shields told The Extra: “The children covered a half mile walk dressed as their favourite superhero, and a lot of the parents also made a great effort to dress for the occasion”.

Fundraising totals are still being calculated but after Saturday’s success, Toni added: “Next year, we’re hoping to organise an even larger event and get more children involved”.

Caught on film are two of the day’s superheroes, two-year-old Holly Hope and three-year-old Robert Shields.
