A summer celebration is set to mark the completion of a £3m investment in Rouken Glen, one of Scotland’s best loved parks.
It promises to be a fantastic day out with events including live music, croquet and chess at the walled garden; traditional fairground rides, a heritage walk, puppet show and storytelling yurt.
The occasion will also feature a ‘Festival of Colour’ with a special arena set up where people can create a lively mess and pelt each other with eco-friendly coloured powder.
There will also be a farmers market, stalls and demonstrations, heritage walks, pony rides, children’s drama, pond dipping and mini beast activities, and a live band at the boating pond.
East Renfrewshire Council’s environment convener Cllr Vincent Waters said: “Rouken Glen Park holds a very special place in the hearts of its visitors. So to mark the final piece of our £3m restoration works we are inviting people to come along and see why this park is so popular.”
Pop along and join in the fun this Saturday from 12noon to 5pm. Free entry.
