OLYMPIC fever continued for pupils at Tinto primary this week as they welcomed a special sporting guest.

The Hillpark school received a visit from Paralympian cyclist Aileen McGlynn — along with her six medals to date.

Glasgow-born Aileen, who is partially-sighted and rides with guide Helen Scott, bagged both a silver and a bronze for Team GB during the London 2012 Paralympics.

She told The Extra: “It’s great to come and things like this, and the victory parade (held in Glasgow last week).

“It’s not just about the day competing in London — now it’s about meeting the people cheering me on and saying thanks to them for the support.

“I’m trying to inspire the kids to get into sport”.
