A Glasgow restaurant is calling on local mums to put themselves first this half term – offering a free pudding for every compliment paid to fellow mums.

The initiative to ‘pud mum first’ follows the revelation that Glasgow mums believe themselves to be less important than either their children or a partner.

A study of 1,000 mums commissioned by restaurant chain, Toby Carvery, revealed the majority of mums put themselves third in the pecking order, with only five per cent believing they are the most significant family member.

Toby Carvery Hurlet are asking mothers to pay each other a compliment on the restaurant’s Facebook page. In return they will both receive a free pudding to enjoy together, taking some well-deserved time off.
