Public consulted on Shawlands square plans

People interested in the regeneration of Shawlands are being asked to share their thoughts on plans for a new civic space near Langside Hall.

The Shawlands Town Centre Action Plan - with which Glasgow City Council and partners have pledged £3.3 million for improvements - includes a proposal for a civic square in front of the hall.

It is hoped that the meeting place would become the heart of an emerging cultural quarter for the southside.

There will be two events held at Langside Hall as part of a public consultation - the first on September 24, 10am-8pm, and the second on October 4, 10am-6pm.

To find out more about the proposal, visit www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=13359 or pick up a copy of the consultation document in the foyer of Langside Hall, Shawlands Academy or local cafes.
