Primary seven at Thornliebank Primary School have been fairly busy over the past week as they explore various career opportunities as part of a class project - ‘World of Work.’
The project, which is being coordinated by principal teacher, Janine McGarvey is designed to give the children a flavour of various occupations by inviting guests in to the school to have a chat with the class about what they do.
And this week it was the turn of The Extra’s reporter, John MacInnes, to reveal to the kids what the life of a reporter is all about, how we do our job, what it entails and to answer questions, of which there were plenty.
Miss McGarvey commented: “We have been doing World of Work week for many years when we have invited members of the school and local community to come in and speak about the skills for lifelong learning and work which they use in their job. The pupils prepare questions to ask their visitors.”
This year the event was started with a visit from our MP Kirsten Oswald to Primary 7.
