Candidates for the May council elections are set to be grilled on their relative stances to local policies in a fortnights time.

Crookfur Greenfarm Mearns Village Community Council has taken on board residents’ requests to hold a hustings meeting for local election candidates who are standing in Ward Two- Newton Mearns North and Neilston.

The hustings will take place in Fairweather Hall, Barrhead Road, on Thursday, April 13 at 7pm.

Chairperson David Pearson said: “This is an opportunity for residents in Ward Two to hear what the candidates have to say, what their vision and priorities are if elected.

“I hope it will prove valuable in enabling the candidates to set out their respective stalls and in helping the electorate in Ward two to decide how to use their vote once they have listened to the candidates.

There are nine candidates for this ward. See full details on the council website: http://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=19895&p=0
