Job hunters from across East Renfrewshire are invited to a recruitment fair for the new Manorview Hotel — formerly the Busby Hotel — in a council bid to boost employment

The Redhurst Hotel in Giffnock will host a recruitment day tomorrow (Thursday) from 3-8pm, with vacancies available to view at .

A council spokesman said: “The workER team is working with the Manorview Hotel to bring the best people from the local area to fill new jobs at the recently renovated Busby Hotel.

“Anyone interested in employment opportunities please contact our workER team on 0141 577 8438.”

Councillor Tony Buchanan, convener for infrastructure and sustainable growth welcomed the news, calling the recruitment drive “a great opportunity for local people to find much-needed employment”.

Meanwhile, companies across East Ren are being offered business and administration modern apprenticeships, also through East Renfrewshire Council’s A Place to Work initiative.

A spokesman said: “Any business willing to take on a 16-19 year old apprentice and supervise their progress, will be offered the funded training programme.

“This will allow the young person to obtain the nationally recognised SVQ Level 3 accreditation.”

The council is currently recruiting a bank of young people interested in the scheme — anyone interested is asked to send a CV to, quoting the reference WER092.
