AROUND Newton Mearns there are quite a few remnants of the past, like this farm house in Old Mearns Road worthy of photographing.
I wanted the image to be bathed in a sombre yellow colour cast to reflect times gone by, therefore my friend and I set off late in the evening to the location near Greenbank Gardens.
To convey the great sweep of the empty road and to create the star-burst effects of the street lamps I used a small aperture on a 28mm wide angle lens.
My friend did well to stand absolutely still for the 25 second exposure.
I used my Canon 7D mounted on a tripod with ISO 500. The aperture was set at f16 and the image taken in RAW format.
