THIS image was taken with a Nikon D3 and 200mm lens in the New Forest, just after sunrise.
The ponies make fairly compliant subjects.
I liked the way the low sun backlit the two main subjects making them stand out against the other ponies and the silver birch trees in the background.
Photoshop was used to bring out shadow detail in the two foreground ponies.
A wide aperture of f 4.0 helped blur the background and allowed a shutter speed of 1/2000s to freeze all movement in the mane and tail.
