First Bus come under fire again over the number four service.

The Crookfur, Greenfarm & Mearns Village Community Council is continuing its efforts to persuade First Bus to restore the original route taken by the number four bus.

The cut, imposed last October has left many groups of travellers unable to catch a bus that will take them directly into the city centre or to the New Victoria Hospital.

Chairperson David Pearson said: “Since our last meeting on January 12 a petition has been started on our Facebook page – alternatively non-FB users can access it at: www.change.org where it’s listed under “cuts to 4 bus Crookfur”.

Cllr Ian McAlpine who covers some of the areas the service travels through said: “Having been approached by more than one constituent on the problems the loss of this bus service causes, I will be writing to First Bus to try and ascertain what can be done to ensure all my constituents are treated fairly when it comes to public transport matters.”

The next meeting of the community council is on Thursday, February 9 at 7pm in Fairweather Hall.
