Patient apprehended

A PATIENT who absconded from Leverndale hospital has been found.

Steven Wilson had been on unescorted leave when he failed to return to the hospital on Friday, March 30.

Wilson (47), who was convicted of manslaughter in 1988, has spent the past 24 years in and out of institutions, including Broadmoor, Ashworth and Carstairs.

The restricted patient was apprehended by police in Ayrshire.

A Scottish government spokesperson said: “Strathclyde Police has informed us that restricted patient Steven Wilson has been apprehended and returned to hospital.

It is as yet unknown whereabouts in Ayrshire Wilson was found.
