A NEW £500,00 training academy for East Renfrewshire’s youngsters has been officially opened at Rouken Glen Park.
The Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) Academy has received £400,000 of investment over four years from East Renfrewshire council.
The facility — which opened its doors late last year — delivers training through vocational and modern apprenticeship programmes to help young people into employment.
More than 500 residents have been involved so far, and the ribbon was cut last week to mark its official opening.
Councillor Tony Buchanan said: “The centre is an inspiring environment— I look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength.”
Operations manager James Ward added: “We have created an environment which stimulates learning through doing.”
