Missing man Sean Blakey’s body recovered from the River Clyde

The body of Cessnock man, Sean Blakey, 30, who has been missing from his home since Thursday, February 23, has been found.

Inspector Kevin Lammie said: “Around 2.50pm on Thursday, March 9, the body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde near the Kingston Bridge.

“The body has been formally identified as missing man Sean Blakey and relatives are aware.

“Our thoughts are with Sean’s family and friends at this time.”

A post mortem examination will take place in due course, however there would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
