Merrylee Primary’s P7s are making their way in the business world having forged links with Quilter Cheviot, an investment management firm.

Staff from the Glasgow company visited the children, leading lessons and workshops on the world of finance before choosing a winning pitch from companies created by the youngsters, and awarding £200 for the benefit of the school.

Head teacher Liz Mahindru said: “The children learned about making good choices with money, how best to look after it and how to make it grow.

“We are very grateful to Quilter Cheviot staff for freely giving their time to plan and deliver such excellent learning for the children.”
