RUNNERS are gearing up for the latest local sporting event on the calendar — the Men’s Health Forum Scotland 10k.
The event takes place on June 17 — the annual event always falls on Father’s Day — at Bellahouston Park, and registration is open until tomorrow (Friday),
The MHFS 10K was first established in 2006 and aims to raise the profile of men’s health and engage males of all ages and abilities in a healthy day out.
It attracts up to 4,000 runners each year, and an estimated £40,000 was raised for charities of all levels in 2011.
According to the organiser, the participants range from fitness fanatics to men who have been inactive for some time — in fact, 40 per cent of those taking part in previously had never entered a 10k before.
The 10k starts at 10am next Sunday, and further information — including registration — is available at The Men’s 10k website.
