Mearns Primary welcomed one of Scotland’s top women footballers to the playground this week.

Scotland women’s captain and Celtic goalkeeper Gemma Fay was at Mearns primary for a kickabout with the P3 girls.

The children on the football challenge will now enjoy three months of coaching, followed by a festival at the end.

Football star Gemma said: “At that age, it’s about having fun, and that is the focus of this programme. Hopefully the girls taking part will continue to enjoy the game and keep playing for years to come.”
