Mearns Castle High is on the fundraising case for local cause Ayesha’s Bone Marrow Appeal.

The appeal — run by Newton Mearns family the Siddiquis in honour of young Ayesha (10), who is still searching for a bone marrow donor — has raised more than £200,000 for children’s charities Yorkhill and Anthony Nolan.

Mum Noreen collected a £500 cheque from S6 pupils at Mearns Castle recently, from cash raised during the school’s charity week and given to charities nominated by pupils — she thanked the community for its continued support.

But the fundraising trail doesn’t stop there, as Mearns Castle pupils Sanaa, Chanelle and Aleen have organised a 5k family fun walk at Rouken Glen Park on Sunday,
June 7.

The event kicks off at 11.30am, meeting at the Davieland Road entrance, and all are welcome along.
