Man arrested over Dixon Avenue suspicious death

A 54-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of a body in a Govanhill flat.

Nasreem Buksh (43) was discovered in the flat at Dixon Avenue during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Although police refuse to confirm, The Extra understands that she died from a serious head injury.

Police were called to the flat at 7am where Nasreem lived along with her husband Asghar Buksh.

Shortly after an ambulance was also called. The Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We were alerted to a incident involving a 43-year-old woman who had suffered a head injury, and who was possibly deceased.

“We attended and paramedics pronounced that Nasreem had died.”

Police Scotland commented: “A 54 year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The Extra’s investigations have revealed that Asghar Buksh is the sole director of a limited company called Okara with a correspondence address of 41 Dixon Avenue.
