GLASGOW Museums has issued a call for artefacts which show just what 2012 was like for the city’s families.

The organisation is asking for suggestions of objects which sum up the last year – everyday items which may seem alien to the generations to come.

Dr Ellen McAdam, head of Glasgow Museums, explained: “We want ordinary objects with good stories attached. It doesn’t have to be new or in the box.

“Or it could be something fantastic that happened for you in that year – perhaps a local club won a trophy or something.

“The stories are just as valuable as the objects. The objects can’t speak for themselves – they need human voices attached”.

Anyone who wishes to share a suggestion can do so via the Glasgow Museums website, before a deadline of January 27.

The ideas will be sorted through and final decisions made at a collection meeting, with an exhibition of the chosen pieces to be show later in 2013.
