Radio Clyde presenters Knoxy and Sheban Littlejohn launch 2012 Ignis Asset Management Womens 10K,accompanied by piper Iona Brodie(19) and drummer Dawn Gillies(23) from Williamwood Pipe Band.

WILLIAMWOOD Pipe Band members Iona Brodie and Dawn Gillies were joined by Clyde 1 presenters Knoxy and Shebhan Littlejohn for the launch of this years’ Women’s 10k.

The band were such a hit last time that they will now be stationed every 500m to keep the runners legs pumping (or should that be piping).

Piper Iona (19) said: “We play upbeat songs to keep them going and I think it works, last year they all kept waving at us even though they were probably dying”.

Drummer Dawn (23) is looking forward to the race in May:“It’s really good to be involved, it’s a brilliant event”, she said.
