MSP Stewart Maxwell has teamed up with Focus Scotland Magazine to promote a campaign which he hopes will encourage people in East Renfrewshire to get involved in community based volunteering.

The campaign has cross-party support from MSPs at Holyrood and aims to encourage more people in Scotland to volunteer within their community with the hope to see an increase in community involvement throughout the country in 2013.

Mr Maxwell said:“My role as an MSP means I meet volunteers regularly and I am always impressed by the important work they do to help out in their local communities.

“I would encourage any residents who are interested to contact Volunteer Action East Renfrewshire to find out what opportunities are available”.
