POLICE are appealing for witnesses in connection with a high value robbery in Thornliebank.

The incident took place on Saturday, November 24, at Beauty Express and Salon Services in Thornliebank industrial estate, Evanton Drive.

Staff first discovered the theft upon returning to work on Monday morning (November 26), finding a window smashed and a large quantity of GHD styling products missing.

Police were contacted and have since viewed CCTV footage which shows the premises being broken in to around 9.30pm on the Saturday.

Images captured include a black transit van reversing nearby, and two men exiting at the same time while a third walks towards the building on from Nitshill Road.

One is seen entering the building through a broken window and handing out boxes full of GHD straighteners to the other men, who load them in the back of the van.

The van leaves, and returns 45 minutes later, repeating the process.

Detective constable Murray Rolley, from Pollok CID, said: “The staff have now had an opportunity to check all their stock and there has been around 800 sets of hair straighteners stolen in this robbery. They are each valued between £100 - £150 per unit.

“I am appealing to anyone who was around the Evanton Drive or Nitshill Road area around 9.30pm that day to contact me.

“I am also very keen to speak to anyone who saw a black Transit style vehicle in the area to get in touch as there are not many black vans of this style on the roads.

“Finally, if anyone is offered a set of GHD straighteners for sale, not through an authorised outlet, please get in touch as I have no doubt these suspects will try to sell them on to the unsuspecting public especially with Christmas approaching”.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pollok station on 532 5600.
