The southside’s best bar?

IS your local the Best Bar None? Then Glasgow Community and Safety Services want to know about it.

Glasgow’s Best Bar None awards have been expanded to include new categories, recognising community-based venues as well as big chains.

The GCSS initiative is judged by Strathclyde Police’s licensing teams on criteria including prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance, promotion of public health and protection of children.

GCSS representative Eleanor Lee said: “We’re hoping for in excess of 100 entries this year.’’

More information, including how to apply, can be found at www.bbnglasgow.com – and Glasgow residents looking for a GCSS-approved bar can use a smartphone app to pinpoint their safest local.
