HEAVY rain has left motorists and pedestrians battling through floods across the southside.

Rain falling throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning has left Glasgow’s roads covered in huge puddles and debris, causing delays and potential hazards for drivers.

Reported black spots include Thornliebank Road, Haggs Road and city centre motorways, including the M8 and the Clydeside Expressway.

King George V park on Boydstone Road is once again submerged in water – an ongoing problem at the Thornliebank site.

ScotRail also reported disruption to trains following flooding at Thornliebank station.

The Met office has issued a severe weather warning alert for Strathclyde – set at yellow: be aware – for today and tomorrow (Tuesday).

The rain is expected to ease off on Wednesday – but there’s more in store, as the forecast for Thursday is for more light to heavy downpours.
