KIND-hearted service users at the Barrhead Centre are playing Santa to youngsters less fortunate than others.

The cycle workshop — run by the East Renfrewshire CHCP to give adults with learning difficulties a new role in the community — has been busy working on a dozen children’s bikes, to be donated to those in need of a boost this Christmas.

It’s the second good deed for the team, as the learning workshop recently gifted cycles to Carlibar primary, for pupils who didn’t have their own bikes to use for travelling to school.

Since it opened 18 months ago, the project has seen a steady stream of people bringing in their bikes to be fixed or
traded.

It’s open week days (excluding Thursday) at the Barrhead Resource Centre, 10am-2pm.
