POLICE have made a further appeal for information on a robbery which took place over a year ago.

On November 3, 2011, Betfred on Cathcart Road was targeted by two men. The duo entered the betting shop around 7.20pm, threatened staff and demanded money.

At the time, there were two female staff members present, as well as two customers – no one was injured during the robbery.

Investigating officers have this week released CCTV images alongside detailed descriptions of the men responsible in a bid to track to them down.

The first – slim, white, early 20s and approximately 6ft tall – had short red hair and sideburns. At the the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, green Celtic football scarf, jeans, white trainers and a black leather skip cap with NY on the front.

The second – white, medium build, 20-30 and around 5ft8 – had short, auburn or brown hair which was slightly receding. He was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, jeans, white trainers and grey striped scarf.

Detective inspector Ian Hylands, of Helen Street CID, said: “Extensive inquiries have been continuing since the robbery, and we believe that the men involved are local to the area.

“I would appeal to members of the public to look closely at the images.

“If they recognise either of the men or have any other information whatsoever regarding this crime, I would urge them to come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact CID on 532 5400, or Crimstoppers (anonymously) on 0800 555 111.
