Pollokshields lights up!

Waiting for Video...

WEDNESDAY night, as The Extra was being put to bed, Pollokshields lit up.

It was the official lighting up of Pollokshields Christmas lights – and it was a chilly one.

Technically, the lights were already on, but local people turned out to celebrate nonetheless.

A groups of female carol singers got everyone in the festive mood by crooning favoured standards as Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night.

Later on, an all-girl band belted out tunes such as the White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.
