Police search field in murder inquiry
POLICE have been searching a field near West Kilbride in connection with the murder of southside woman Lynda Spence.
Ms Spence, from Pollokshaws, has been missing for 10 months since she visited her parents in Partick on April 13.
Although her body has yet to be found, four men have been charged with Ms Spence’s abduction and murder.
Paul Smith (45), Colin Coates (41), Philip Wade (40) and David Parker (36) made no plea or declaration when they appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and were remanded in custody.
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: “Police are currently searching a field in the Law Hill area of West Kilbride as part of the Lynda Spence inquiry.
“As proceedings are live in this case, no further comment will be made”.
