Pedestrian dies in accident

Police take control at Clarkston Toll.

A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a lorry at Clarkston Toll.

The incident happened around 10.40am today on the A727 connecting west side of the town with Giffnock and east with East Kilbride.

Police were in attendance with the fire service and ambulance crews and the road had been closed in both directions.

The road was reopened later in the afternoon.

A police investigation is ongoing.
